You live in all the constellations

My poem "Muse" has won second place in the 2008 Dwarf Stars Award.

First place, Greg Beatty's "Place Mat by Moebius." It is a haiku and terrific.

Third place, Ann K. Schwader's "Dancing to Van Gogh."

Go and congratulate them! My year sucks a little less!

Congratulations! And hurrah for the year sucking a bit less.

Most welcome!

And, if I might ask, do you have plans in case of LJ's going out of business? I can be reached as ap_aelfwine@yahoo.com or at http://www.journalfen.net/users/ap_aelfwine/

I'm looking at LJ Archive, but it makes me nervous on account of this thing called the .net framework that it needs installed in order to run.

I'm glad the year is getting a little better. Congratulations on the honor!

What a great excuse for chocolate (it doesn't take much...)!

Congrats!

Phew. On reading "Muse," once again I've fallen in love.

This is what I meant when I said I needed you to write my boy muse. Don't worry, I know what you answered was true, that I need to do it myself. But first, first, I need to collect your poems and read them. Sonya, it's that you think of things like "storm-static" and the "dust of masks," and "slant" things as you do.

Sighs from a fan.

And smiling congratulations to you.

Edit: And the crooked halo, and oh my god how that last line is true, "marked all with your name." Okay, I've gone back and read it three more times. I admit. I'm addicted.

Oh, well done! And please congratulate your muse for me.

Sonya, if LJ does go under, how will I know what you're doing?

Could you take my e-mail just in case? Will you come up with a web site where we can find your writings and know you're life is going on and you are well?

I'm getting worried with all this talk.

Actually, I almost never hold to 5-7-5 haiku, as it tends to produce bloated crap (like, well, that one). I hold to the Henderson "spirit of the law" idea that 5-7-5 is a maximum in English haiku, and the shorter the better (I still think the best haiku I ever wrote is

salt
trickles
down)

(You have sent in the songs for Lilitu, right?)

I haz! Eagerly awaits reply!

Sort of off subject

I just read "The Gambler" and "Muse" to my sister. She said she could only sit open-mouthed. That you are brilliant. That if she met you or heard you, she wouldn't be able to say a word, but just sit in awe.

I always feel the same, but I assured her that you are open and friendly and generous as can be. Thank you for that.
