My poem "Muse" has won second place in the 2008 Dwarf Stars Award.

First place, Greg Beatty's "Place Mat by Moebius." It is a haiku and terrific.

Third place, Ann K. Schwader's "Dancing to Van Gogh."

Go and congratulate them! My year sucks a little less!

Sonya, it's that you think of things like "storm-static" and the "dust of masks," and "slant" things as you do.

And you think of onyx, unbanded and the constancy of water and the browns of the earth sealed in translucent skin. That is beautiful.
