But as soon as the trouble over, watch them take another nap
If I were the kind of person who made macros, I would be making one right now with a shot of Ernie Hudson on top of the Shandor Building shouting, "CNN, when someone asks you if Jews are people, you say yes!"

(God, I feel kind of ill even just talking about this. What the shit, 2016, THERE HAS TO BE A BOTTOM.)
I think we are well out of the timeline where someone stepped on a butterfly and into the one where someone went after the dinosaurs with an Uzi.

I'm glad it did. Talk to me about this? I didn't realize the primary footage was from leaks, not formal press coverage.
(Like the way the same rally....I think it was the same?....the hotel staff didn't know who they were, and were HORRIFIED when they found out and donated the profits to somewhere like the SPLC.)
It was the same group. The restaurant was Maggiano's, who are donating all profits from that night to the ADL.
Same way they like saying "alt-right" because they don't get that knee-jerk "Nazi WTF" reaction.
I am very morbidly amused by the white nationalist who wants the alt-righters to "knock it off" with the explicit Nazi callbacks because people notice that sort of thing and will therefore make an effort to stop them, whereas if they stick to dogwhistles and plausible deniability, they'll be able to get away with pretending they're just the newest wing of the Republican Party and then they can really get some white supremacy in high places. Considered in that sense, man, heil away.
I think we are well out of the timeline where someone stepped on a butterfly and into the one where someone went after the dinosaurs with an Uzi.
*sad +1*

This is the clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkpJumIdzDg I don't know exactly if the salutes were only on the phone cam footage, but Maddow really points out the differences. She says "Late this afternoon we got tape of that event from a different angle....this better camera angle," which shows the audience in a wide shot.
Or waitaminnit, it looks like that exact clip is from an upcoming Atlantic documentary http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2016/11/richard-spencer-speech-npi/508379/
So I'm guessing that's not a phone cam, but it still looks under-coverish -- just the way the focus goes in and out and people walking in front of the camera, but I could be wrong.
(SONYA, THIS GUY SAYS "LUGENPRESSE" LIKE IT'S A JOKE AND GETS A LITTLE CHUCKLE FROM THE ROOM. Supporters were apparently yelling it AT HIS RALLIES! One and two years ago! wtfffffffff)

What are you apologizing for? It's horrible.

Yeah, I was all "children of the sun oh whatever you fascist moron" and heard that word and had this instantaneous *ice bath* wait that sounds horribly familiar reaction. I didn't even know I knew it (might've been from Rise and Fall of the Third Reich? I don't remember).

He is at least consistent in his principles; in addition to the junk science, he appears to be maintaining the Nazi tradition of completely junk academia:
"He envisions a future for the United States along the lines of 'a renewed Roman Empire,' a dictatorship where the main criteria for citizenship would be whiteness."
There speaks someone who knows nothing about Roman citizenship.
I didn't even know I knew it (might've been from Rise and Fall of the Third Reich? I don't remember).
I don't know anymore where I got a lot of the information that I have about the Nazis. I never formally studied them, but I read a lot. I knew the word.

Yeah, ditto. It was....super unsettling.

I was going to say! I don't often feel often on behalf of the Roman Empire, but today I do.
