But the fools only look—they cannot listen for laughing

My poem "The Hero's Journey" has been accepted by Not One of Us. It's the incredibly depressed one about Dido in the underworld. I write this in a stupidly good mood, which I do not expect to break any time in the next few hours.

Why, yes, internet, I would love an episode of Gunsmoke starring Hans Conried. "Shakespeare," 23 August 1952. A strangely touching one, too, considering Conried's comparative careers in radio and film.

I wasn't looking for stereoscopic views of the Gloucester granite industry, but I'm not going to complain about finding them.

It's spring outside. I can't tell if this means next week it's going to snow.

Pretty much everything in this post makes me happy.

Snow I can take or leave, but as long as it's not on a day when I have to drive in, I'll be fine with it.

Congratulations on the sale. Hooray for stupidly good moods and Hans Conried in Gunsmoke!

Unrelated: but I love the icon. Yay for "City of Death"!

Yay for "City of Death" indeed!

I re-watched it last week; never fails to cheer me up.

Blimey. I might just change my opinion on Westerns, based on this.

Well done on the sale!

green_trilobite commented "William Conrad could sound so thin" which makes me wonder if perhaps the whole episode isn't about those who "had a great face for radio."

Hullo, old thing. I'm in a fight on the internet again.

But! Congratulations on the poem. I always like seeing you in print.

Glorious!

The underworld has sent up crocuses.

Thank you for the stereopticon link. I'm a former Gloucester girl and enjoyed looking at the pictures.

Congratulations on the acceptance!

I'm glad for the other good things as well. I hope it doesn't snow next week, although I have to say I'd not lay money on it not doing so.

I wasn't looking for stereoscopic views of the Gloucester granite industry, but I'm not going to complain about finding them.

And I'll certainly not complain about your sharing them. Some nice shots there. For some reason I'm fond of those little sailing cargo vessels that went on carrying goods up and down the coasts well after the triumph of the engine in so many other nautical rôles.

Happy Purim!

It's spring outside. I can't tell if this means next week it's going to snow.

I'd guess yes. Meantime, my brain is alternating between "The weather is glorious!" and "CONGRATULATIONS YOU BROKE THE PLANET, RABBIT-PUNCHERS."

The stereoptican cards are excellent. I'll have to show my dad. (He loves Gloucester.)

PS Congratulations on acceptance. And the stereopticon slides are going to give me a headache.
