Watch out for earthquakes
In which I call
rushthatspeaks, because it's an autumn-bright afternoon in Harvard Square and I love them.
Rush's phone: *rings*
No one picks up; I keep on walking down Mass. Ave.
My phone: *rings*
Rush-That-Speaks: Sorry, I missed your call because of the earthquake.

I do consider this overkill on the part of the universe, yeah.

I need to go play kitten poker. (sorry, N has been watching a lot of Buffy.)

Then, since Reston was being completely as though nothing had happened, I went into D.C. to meet family for dinner. MISTAKE.

I missed the no fun—I was in Harvard Square! Any tremors I felt would have passed for traffic.

I hope you and yours and the relevant houses, etc. are all okay.
It sounds as if it was felt much more in NYC than here. One friend of mine on FB said he thought for a moment the house was going to fall into bits.

As far as I know, everybody's fine. Perceptions seem to have been wildly varied, even within a city. In Cambridge, I didn't feel the quake at all. In downtown Boston, a friend of my mother's was evacuated from her building. I have no idea what it would have been like in Lexington. Possibly nothing.

That's certainly one of the better excuses. I hope you and yours are unstirred, if shaken.

Just you wait: I'll call next time and you'll be like, "I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the plague of locusts."

Certainly wasn't what I was expecting to hear.
I hope you and yours are unstirred, if shaken.
Thank you. So far, so good!
