I had heard of the groundbreaking all-female rock band Fanny, but I had never actually heard them until last night when
spatch played me a live set of theirs from 1971. They are a wall of sound. We started with the barnstormer of "Hey Bulldog" and just kept going. Reading interviews afterward, we were not entirely surprised to discover that whatever else the individual band members disagreed on, none of them were satisfied with their studio albums over their live performances. The concert experience must have blown audiences out of their seats like a Concorde taking off.
This looked like a useful and extensive list of donations for disaster relief for Maui. I don't happen to believe that a personal connection is necessary for people to care, but I did spend time with my family on Maui when we visited Hawaii in 1997. My father and I walked up Haleakalā for the sunrise and saw mist. We visited Lāhainā, because I remember the banyan tree. Last I read, it was still standing. For everyone else, please donate.
