It's maybe five minutes onscreen

Things in my neighborhood are starting to bloom, so I got out of the house in the on-and-off overcast and photographed some.

The forsythia tenaciously fluoresces, the near-sole survivor of last summer's clear-cut yard.

I had never seen daffodils of this candlelike scheme before.

Increasingly my camera refuses to focus and shuts itself down mid-shot, but it can still capture, when it feels like it, the textures of a telephone pole.

I walked in the exact opposite direction from the white wreath of the cherry tree and found this almond instead.

The red maple flowers lay in the street like a skein across a river.

The more standardly colored daffodils are still beautiful, especially when marble-translucent with sun.

I just like a wallful of moss.

I agree with this post that the human body was not designed to know what the worst person in the world is doing every fifteen minutes, but it was not possible for me to avoid hearing that the man in the White House shared AI slop of himself as Jesus healing the sick for Pascha. It was much nicer to discover that Aimee Mann circa 'Til Tuesday belonged so clearly to the elusive Bowie–Swinton species. She could have starred in Liquid Sky (1982).

Glorious pictures. I am glad something is still blooming in the denuded yard. I love the ombre daffs but have never thought of them as candles, so I will carry that image with me now.

Just the other day it was suddenly proper spring here, too, and I found a mutant rhododendron with massive powder pink flowers larger than my fist.

I salute the defiant forsythia, and the defiant you.

Ane there's something so perfectly evanescent about fallen tree flowers on pavement.

Whoa, watching thatvcideo gave neva flashbackn to local 1980s UHF station V66. We didn't have cable, but did watch some music videos that way.

Did you know that Janelle Monae time traveled to see David Bowie? The news hit my bluesky feed yesterday that she told Lucy Dacus about it. I found thiis

Of course JM time traveled.

(Imagine how differently our planet would be treated if the Ekumen first met Monae?)

Absolutely gorgeous pictures. I, too, like a wallful of moss.

I did not know what an almond blossom looks like. My God.

We had one nice day of spring and now we're in thunderstorm territory.

I am so glad other people know of and refer to the Bowie-Swinton alien species! I am also glad to see such another prime example!

(there is one contra musician who I think must be at least partially of it, and I find myself distracted by their beauty every time they play.)

(I don't know where you're located, but if you're in Toronto--said musician wouldn't happen to play hurdy-gurdy, would they?)

Enjoy those varicolored daffodils. And the street.

(We've got daffodils too! And scylla.)

I agree with that post too! Knowing a wallful of moss is much better. Alas that we can't *not* know the other stuff (alas that the other stuff exists...)
