The sky is cooling, the light is beginning to tilt over; we are entering autumn, the ghost-season. For a long time it was the season I drew the most strength from, and then it became a reminder of all the things I had lost. The last couple of years have been particularly bad. I don't know if it's superstitiously, but I am telling myself this year will be different: I'll go with you into the dark, Charon, but not to stay. Only so long as it takes to draw you back into the light, sharing the crossing, however many shores this river has.
