I have a Patreon.

Because I talk a lot about film on this journal, and I think it's worth paying for. Incentives include cat pictures and poetry. And film writing, of course.

I've asked for no reward because I hate cat pictures. I assume I'll eventually see the poetry and reviews here or somewhere, and if not it's worth it for the poetry and reviews I have seen here in the past.

I'll see if there's some way I can notify you when reviews go up and poems are written without including you in the monthly roundup of cat pictures. (I am attempting to avoid as much interaction with Patreon's user interface as possible, because I find it appallingly counterintuitive and constrained.) Otherwise, yes. You should be able to get all the reviews here and if necessary I will e-mail you about the poems.

I know you said you hated dealing with the interface--understandably!--but one thing you might consider is something like an alternative $5/mo reward (if that's doable on Patreon--I've seen it done on Kickstarter, but that may be a different beast), wherin we'd give you money if you promised to write extra poetry/fiction. (I'd totally give you money toward finishing that translation of the Pharsalia, except I totally don't have any money...)

So noted. I think I'd like to run the current model for a couple of months and see how it works first—one of the goals of this Patreon was to avoid anything that required so much commitment it became a source of stress, because I have enough sources of stress already. I will be writing film-related poems, however, since I have more than one patron at the $15 level. So that should be interesting.

(I'd totally give you money toward finishing that translation of the Pharsalia, except I totally don't have any money...)

I still really want to someday! And not in a Browning Version kind of way, either.
