My poem "Cuneiform Toast" is now online at the new electronic Mythic Delirium. Its inspirations are mostly explained by the author's notes, but it takes its name from these earrings by elisem and it is not a ghost poem. I don't know how its subject feels about cats.

This has been a devastating week. Last week wasn't so hot either. This has been an incredibly mixed month.

Thank you. It was one of the kind that fell into my head all at once, which are fun.

I have a lot of sympathy for overworked bureaucratic figures. I've never been able to figure out where it came from, since my most common experience with bureaucracy involves waiting on hold and hating every minute of it, but I can point as far back as Sempitern Walker in Diana Wynne Jones' A Tale of Time City (1987) and as recently as derspatchel's Provost in the Anarchist Society of Shakespeareans' Measure for Measure last year, so I really shouldn't be surprised when it transfers itself to mythologies.

(It is very excellent music. Was it written entirely by the band, or is it a setting of someone else's text? I've been able to track down very little about it online, I suspect because I cannot search effectively in Russian.)

It's been written by the band, though it's one of their early songs; I'm unable to find whether it's written by Helavisa herself, or by a different member of the band. Helavisa is a celtologist (she's working on Old Irish if memory seves) and writes most, though not all of the songs.
