Put me up on the angel's shoulders

Strange Horizons has been nominated for a Hugo Award.

In its first year of eligibility. Congratulations to everyone involved with the magazine—I can't see myself in San Antonio in August, but I really hope someone I know will be there to accept on our collective behalf!

And even if not, this is news that has been warming me for a week. Between the poetry and the short mythic fiction, it was always my assumption that I was out of the running for the Hugos. It never occurred to me that I could be nominated for editing. I'll take it.

(This following on a day which contained significant stressors, but also an afternoon with [livejournal.com profile] rushthatspeaks at Powder House Park, unplanned dinner at Central Kitchen with [livejournal.com profile] derspatchel, and a new post from Abbie the Cat—it's all right by me.)

Congratulations, very well deserved.

I expect some of the other editors will be going. Jed was in Reno and Brit was in Chicago, so it seems plausible.

(I think there should be a Hugo for poetry.)
