Put me up on the angel's shoulders
Strange Horizons has been nominated for a Hugo Award.
In its first year of eligibility. Congratulations to everyone involved with the magazine—I can't see myself in San Antonio in August, but I really hope someone I know will be there to accept on our collective behalf!
And even if not, this is news that has been warming me for a week. Between the poetry and the short mythic fiction, it was always my assumption that I was out of the running for the Hugos. It never occurred to me that I could be nominated for editing. I'll take it.
(This following on a day which contained significant stressors, but also an afternoon with
rushthatspeaks at Powder House Park, unplanned dinner at Central Kitchen with
derspatchel, and a new post from Abbie the Cat—it's all right by me.)

I'm glad there were good things to balance the stressors. As always, Abbie the Cat's deep insights into all manner of things are welcome.

I expect some of the other editors will be going. Jed was in Reno and Brit was in Chicago, so it seems plausible.
(I think there should be a Hugo for poetry.)

Thank you. It wasn't even something I imagined.

Great! I just don't have the funds to travel to Texas this year. (And honestly, if I had the funds, I would want to travel somewhere else.)

I would love that. Do you know how to make it happen?

Thank you! I know it wasn't all me, but I am brushing off Tiny Wittgenstein and believing that I contributed.
