Hold on, hon, we're going to bunny-hug

Film did not happen, but it turns out you can get a Corpse Reviver at Cuchi Cuchi, also an Easy Virtue, a Brazilian Wax, an after-dinner absinthe, and some really astonishing blini, so I wouldn't call the evening a letdown.

ROck. But do they do a Narbonic Tonic?

G&T + a splash of grenadine (to turn it Helen's favorite pink). There were actually a BUNCH of Narbonic cocktails proposed at one point, but the site that hosted the recipes (imjustdrinking.com) seems to no longer exist.

Did the Corpse Reviver--er--resurrect up to expectations? Can you get an Easy Virtue with a Brazilian Wax? I see her was having bee-stung lips and a wicked spitcurl. A Preferred Blonde. (All our drinks are muddled.)

Technically, you had a Corpse Reviver #2, which is quite different from the Corpse Reviver #1.

If you haven't had a classic (revived recipe, with all the ingredients) Aviation, do try one if you encounter it; I think you'll like it.

Hmm. Gin, maraschino liqueur, crème de violette, and lemon juice.

"The rarity of Crème de Violette appeared as a plot element in an episode of The Avengers in 1965 entitled 'Two's A Crowd'."

you can get a Corpse Reviver...

Ah, good for what ails you, especially if what ails you is sobriety.

I envy you! My tolerance pretty much matches my build: lightweight. I think I may try cocktails for a change!

A propos of nothing in particular, do you know Miles Rind? We went to the same high school (I was a freshman when he was a senior, so he would not remember me). He wrote a goofy parody of Poe's The Raven for the school magazine that I can still quote.

He is that Miles Rind, and also the bass-baritone: http://milesrind.com/.

Sorry the film didn't happen, but I'm glad for the good things that stopped the evening being a letdown.
