When I ordered my favorite seasonal sundae from the Scoop 'n' Scootery, they included a little paper bag of free cookies with a friendly handwritten note. And when spatch got home from work, he presented me with my birthday present courtesy of the recent half-price Criterion sale, the DVD of Powell and Pressburger's A Matter of Life and Death (1946). So on balance, I must have had a good day.
