Happy Valentine's Day! In the morning I slept, in the afternoon I walked around a snow-covered reservoir, and in the evening
spatch and I shared barbecue and watched Launder and Gilliat's The Green Man (1956), a delightful farce of assassination that could be double-featured as readily with The Ladykillers (1955) as with Arsenic and Old Lace (1944). George Cole makes a terrible vacuum cleaner salesman, but it is hard to argue with his observation, "Well, people don't usually commit suicide in a boudoir grand."
