We are not watching the aurora tonight because we have been watching our street turn into a river instead. I have a three-day headache and blame the nor'easter. Have some links.
1. Courtesy of
selkie: "'Astounding' Roman statues unearthed at Norman church ruins on route of HS2." I suspect I may never not think of Colpeper when I read of such discoveries. He haunts time as much as his pilgrims and Roman roads. I hope Pressburger's ghost is happy.
2. I showed my father Occupy! (1976) and he came back with the 1972 Kirkby rent strike. I may try to track down its documentary as well.
3. Have a ghost poem for New England: Elinor Wylie, "Atavism."
Earlier in the evening,
spatch and I took a rare picture of ourselves. You can't see the green basket chair we are sitting in or the framed signals diagram hanging over our heads, but I think we look very autumnal.
