I am extremely pleased to announce that my short story "The Creeping Influences" will be reprinted early next year in E. Catherine Tobler's The Best of Shimmer (Shimmer Publications). This is the story with the bog body, the non-binary narrator, and the title from a cycle of Seamus Heaney poems that I love as much as they raise the hairs on the back of my neck. It will be in wonderful company from the magazine's first year to its last and I'm already looking forward. Further details as they become available!

In further writing news, my poem "Capta" has been accepted by Not One of Us. I wrote it in June; it's about anti-Semitism and archaeology and a coin I wanted very much in college, because I had outlived what it commemorated, which was not how I felt about most of the classical world I was studying at the time. It belongs to the aesthetic
selkie calls MIR ZAYNEN FUCKING DO. Singing in the dark times: we are still here.
