My poem "Female Figure of the Early Spedos Type, 1884–" has been accepted by GlitterShip. It's more about Cycladic figures than it is about Modigliani. I have never sold this market poetry before and I am pleased.
Aqueduct Press has recently released two collections I am really excited about: Gemma Files' Invocabulary and Gwynne Garfinkle's People Change. I get to kvell slightly because during my tenure at Strange Horizons I published poems now collected in both. I've also been enjoying Say Thanks (1998), the short film Files wrote and directed as part of On the Fly 3. It's a sixteen-minute two-hander with music sourced from Bill Laswell and Coil's "Kála" and an actor who reminds me of Anthony Perkins; it would fit just fine among the stories of Kissing Carrion (2003), my first introduction to her work.
Ruthanna Emrys has just started a Patreon. Rewards include juvenilia, recipes from Innsmouth and Tikanu, reports of the breeding practices of Outer Ones. Yeah, I have no idea, either. Become a patron and find out!
I have had a day that involved a lot of rewarding exertion and missing something I had been looking forward to, in about equal proportions. I am either going to watch a movie or collapse. [edit] Movie ran into technical issues; I guess this leaves collapse.
