rushthatspeaks arrives shortly and we will head to Providence for this evening's launch party. I have no idea how many people I can expect to see there and I'm looking forward to all of them.
I know there are white nationalists and neo-Nazis and all manner of the alt-right organizing in D.C. this weekend. I hope the counter-protesters stay safe. I hope they outnumber the alt-right by the thousands. I hope the police, if they have to, come down on the right side.
I'm going to read some queer Jewish fiction and remind myself that existing in this climate is not armchair activism. And I take joy in being alive, with a book.
