I know there are only so many original plots in the world and most convergences are produced by parallel evolution rather than plagiarism, so I assume David Freyne who wrote and directed The Cured (2017) never read Joy Kennedy-O'Neill's "Aftermath" (though everyone should, it's great) and I'm quite sure that neither David Levithan nor Michael Sucsy ever heard of me, but I read about Every Day (2018) and thought in a rare moment of self-esteem, "Dammit, I did that better in 'The Dybbuk in Love.'"
