To quote [livejournal.com profile] pythia_akrypta: Dear baby jeebus in a tortilla.

I do not read the New Haven Advocate. But as I see from their notice for my poetry reading tomorrow (thank you, Katherine!), they certainly seem to know who I am:

"Hey, why don't you come back to my hotel room and 'read some poetry?'" Savvy business move or shameless proposition? Whatever the case, it worked for Yale PhD candidate Sonya Taaffe, whose hotel-lobby query to a publisher led to a steamy night of reading, and a deal for publication.

Approximately 75% of that story is true. Wow. I feel like a 1930's film starlet.

People had better come to the reading after this!

I've got my programming for Gaylaxicon!

Saturday, 4 PM: "Women Writing Gay Men—Beyond Slash." I am qualified to speak on this topic on the strength of exactly two stories, I think, but I'll take it! Besides, I would have gone to hear the panel anyway. This is the next best thing.

Monday, 11:15 AM: Reading and Signing. Come hear me!

And the rest of the time I expect to wander around with [livejournal.com profile] gaudior and [livejournal.com profile] rushthatspeaks, listening to interesting panels and losing all of my money in the dealer's room, and this will be a good thing. I can't make the Tiptree Awards on Friday, but I will be at the Gaylactic Spectrum Awards on Saturday: I have two stories up ("Another Coming" and "A Maid on the Shore"—see links in sidebar) and heartily expect not to win, but I'm attending anyway.

Anybody else going to be there?
