It snowed all throughout the day—it is still snowing faintly, dustily in the streetlight—so in the evening I walked around in it. It was the first time I had left the house not on cat-related medical business since New Year's Eve.

Yes, good luck with having proper snow temperatures and not a lot of mess and bother.

Our snow is not even covering the tips of the grass, but it is snow and the temperatures are supposed to really plunge, so I have hopes. Also I guess we get just the edge of the gigantic storm heading for parts of the East Coast, so maybe the unfortunate grass tips will be covered soon. They are confused at the moment. So am I.

We spent all day yesterday grimly telling each other not to get excited for the snow because it would probably all fizzle out while secretly getting VERY excited for the snow, and it was such a delight to have a reason to put on snowboots and make hot chocolate and admire our neighbor child's driveway snowperson after all!
