It snowed all throughout the day—it is still snowing faintly, dustily in the streetlight—so in the evening I walked around in it. It was the first time I had left the house not on cat-related medical business since New Year's Eve.

We had stealth snow and it is lying nicely about.

We spent all day yesterday grimly telling each other not to get excited for the snow because it would probably all fizzle out while secretly getting VERY excited for the snow, and it was such a delight to have a reason to put on snowboots and make hot chocolate and admire our neighbor child's driveway snowperson after all!

It was a for-real snow! I don't think we had an occasion last year when this amount of snow fell, all at once.
