I have a new shirt, by which I mean its age and provenance are indeterminate and it fits me. This is increasingly how I acquire my good clothes and I'm not complaining.



All I wanted to do last night was lie on the couch and watch the Granada Sherlock Holmes (1984–94), except the source that I used for this purpose last spring had expired from the freely available internet, so instead I lay on the couch and read Arthur Conan Doyle and AO3, which were satisfying in their own right but not quite the same thing.

I never have, actually—only Hammer's The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959), after which I wished he and André Morell had done the entire cycle on film. You recommend?
