As I continue to feel terrible and limited in foodstuffs, I wanted to make dinner with a minimum of time and effort, so I opened a tin of smoked sardines and a tin of mackerel in olive oil and cooked them with leftover basmati rice and black pepper and one of the seasoning blends that spatch and I refer to as "allium in a can" and I believe I succeeded in making totally inauthentic kedgeree. It was hot and tasted good. I bet I could have added yogurt if I had been thinking straight.

A dish I make about once a week involves canned mackerel, shredded cabbage, black mustard seeds, a hot pepper, and lemon and soy sauce seasoning.

That does sound good. I keep forgetting how much I love mackerel. choco_frosh air-dropped me another couple of cans yesterday.
