I could tell you what it feels like, but it's overdone
Today I spent most of the afternoon at the doctor's and emerged clutching an unexpectedly large paper bag of medications, because I don't have pneumonia, but I do have an acute sinus infection and purulent bronchitis, which sounds unnecessarily scary if you ask me.
spatch met me afterward and took me to Dakzen where he ordered me a five-alarm sour tamarind curry with whole shrimp and a fried egg. I really appreciated it. I feel that whatever plans I had for the rest of this weekend are not going to happen, unless they involve not moving.

Thank you! I have four of them and three are already complicated to schedule around each other and food, but the doctor felt confident that they would help, so I just have to manage the logistics!

Thank you! The curry was their special of the month and worth it. I think it's one of the few Thai curries I've had without coconut milk and I'd never before had one with a fried egg on top, although when the egg broke it added beneficially to the sauce. It had cauliflower, napa cabbage, carrots, and papaya in it along with the shrimp. Apparently all it takes for me to like cauliflower is pickling it with volcanic levels of chili pepper. Would eat again.

I hope you feel better very soon.

That seems perfectly sensible to me.

I am glad you have a new arsenal but very sorry it's needed. Excellent Spatch, however, for providing the curry. I hope it was restorative.

I MEAN IT'S NOT PNEUMONIA BUT IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I SHOULD HAVE A HAZMAT CORDON OR AT LEAST ONE OF THOSE LEPER BELLS.

Thank you! It was excellent curry. It did its best to clear my sinuses and it tasted great.

I saw your additional description of the curry in comments above and WOW, it sounds just sublime.

That does seem more efficient. Thank you.

I couldn't remember the name, but internet research suggests it was southern Thai kaeng som. I hope it is available near you!

While the curry as treatment for the symptoms sounds (to my levels of chili tolerance) like kill or cure: if THAT doesn't clear those sinuses...

The meds appear to be flattening me almost as much as the illness! But I trust them more.

It had slightly that quality, but it was also delicious . . .

Me: How the hell does "purulent" differ from ordinary bronchitis?
Internet: AREN'T YOU GLAD YOU ASKED.
Me: NO.

THIS IS IN FACT THE REST OF MY WEEKEND PLAN.

I have a history of sinus infections, but not bronchitis or pneumonia; I think it may just be a sign of the nastiness of the bugs running around this winter. Everyone at urgent care mentioned that they were seeing a lot of bronchitis lately.

tl;dr I think my immune system is permanently on strike.

I got a nebulizer treatment at the doctor's which definitely improved my ability to inhale without pitching a coughing fit. It has worn off by this point in the evening, of course, but that is what the night medications are for. And I do have an inhaler; it's the one prescription that doesn't need coordinating around meals.
Hope your not moving plans are upheld by the universe.
Thank you!

No! I feel cheated!
I definitely look hectic in mirrors, which is absolutely unfair.

That sounds like it was an excellent idea.

Thank you. I am hoping the medications do what they are supposed to!

It was great. After grocery shopping this afternoon, I splurged and had curry noodles for dinner, and do not regret this plan either.
