I keep on searching for some way around all that I've been given
Today is not breathing room. I was woken at eight o'clock by a doctor's phone call and kept awake by pain after that. The alarm I set last night when I thought I was going to get more than three hours' sleep just went off. This is a terrible month. I am supposed to do something nice this afternoon with
rushthatspeaks, but I am just tired of my body being even less endurable to be trapped inside than usual. I feel like an object lesson. I feel like a scratched record.
Late yesterday afternoon, I went walking with
spatch around a loop of the Mystic River in Medford and back into Somerville. We saw swans with their cygnets and ducks with their ducklings and water lilies and slow green-silted water and glossy eddies and kids playing. He took a picture of me that I wish accurately represented my life.

I don't write about trees nearly as much as I write about the sea, but I used to spend a significant part of every summer in them. Other seasons, too.

(also, best wishes for dealing with healthcare and for your country in general. I've dealt with healthcare systems in three countries, and they all have their gaps and quirks and bureaucratic malevolencies, but I read descriptions of US healthcare and the latter concept appears to be the entire point of the system.)
