Rabbit, rabbit! I am preparing to spend the day voting for the future of my state on exactly zero minutes of sleep. Why should politics be different from anything else?

In other words, I am about to leave for the Massachusetts State Democratic Convention. The sky outside my window is full of gold-fringed cloudbanks and still dawn-thickened light. The cats are asleep.

I have no idea if I will get what I want, but I would rather be trying for it than not. I will be counted. We shall see.

I don't know the delegates from Cambridge, so I will consider myself virtually represented at the convention by you.

I'm honored. At least one of the Cambridge delegates was the colleague of spatch's I keep mentioning, so I think you were ably represented in reality as well.

When the Republican Party first emerged, young members organized "Wide Awake" clubs (because they were "wide awake" to the threat of the Slave Power). I'm very sorry for your sleepless nights, but at least you can truthfully say, that in more ways than one, you're Woke.
