Your hands in the starlight, your feet on the floor

It is pouring rain so heavily and so coldly that I am not touring bridges this morning: I want architecture, not pneumonia. Since I am awake, however, I plan to devote the day to books, cats, and movies, which I figure should be nearly as good for me as a lot of walking and engineering.

I am so relieved you rethought your plans. This is the first Boston Marathon in my memory at least where everyone had to negotiate slush at the opening and the later finishers had to dodge falling sleet, hail, and ice. I worried that you would emulate the Marathoners.

Here in CT, no snow or ice, only 2-4 inches of rain, which the helpful TV meteorologists informed us is an entire month or two months' worth of rain in a few hours.
