And tonight Bertie Owen failed to turn on. I worry very much that we have reached the limits of even his miraculous powers of recovery. Further bulletins as whatever happens next, happens. In the meantime, I will not be making the post I had intended to, because it's on a hard drive that's currently behaving like a Schrödinger cat. This post courtesy of derspatchel's laptop.

I did see a Bertie Owen-like computer on eBay last week for under $300 from a reputable seller. I saved the link if you're interested.

It can't hurt. Please send it to me. I'll have a better idea of my options tomorrow; right now I am just frustrated and sad and feeling like I cannot get even a minimal break in this accelerating downward crash.

I hope Bertie is able to resurrect again.

The listing was here. It has ended, but it doesn't look like it sold. I'm not positive that it's as like Bertie Owen as I originally thought, because I now can't find the description of Bertie that you posted that I was referencing when I looked for it, but on the other hand, the seller may have something that works for you, as he seems to have amassed and refurbished rather a lot of laptops.

I hope things have improved a great deal.
