Oh, when I joined the Eagles (as it might be yesterday)

I would like to make several thoughtful posts, but they may have to hold off a day or two while I catch up on sleep.

On a brief grocery errand earlier this evening, I passed a man wearing a T-shirt which stated in black on hot pink, in a combination of san-serif and expressively ornate fonts, "I sweat glitter and cum—" and then he was using his smartphone with both hands, so his arms were in such a position that I couldn't read what the T-shirt professed its wearer cums. Metaphysically, I feel it should be something like "confetti," but I can't prove it. I am concerned that attempting to find out via Google will lead only to regret. [edit] It is confetti! Thank you, friendslist.

(My T-shirt for the day has been the one for the Legio VI Victrix which [livejournal.com profile] rushthatspeaks got me in 2012, with the bull-emblem in gold on Roman-red. I try not to wear it too often, so as not to fade it with washing. There are occasions it's right for.)

Today also contained a legitimate conversational opportunity to mention the apotropaic winged phallus (now with bells on!), as well as that one relief where a fascinus wards off the evil eye by ejaculating in it, so obviously I did.

I'm not sure if I sense a theme.

I suspect it would be rainbows, but I'm not Googling it either.

Museum gift shops are letting us all down, IMO.

Someone sat down one morning and wrote that bronze phallus windchimes "make a tinkling sound" and posted it to the web for the rest of us. Thank you so much, copywriter. Here's a far far better photo and indeed, the market for these is going to be vast if someone would just start 3D printing them or something.

I found these on Etsy: sweater buttons, maybe?

OH DUDE I live in the biggest Big Gayborhood in Seattle so I can tell you it's "I sweat glitter and cum confetti."

Also I know the rainbow dildo in Sens8 probably wasn't from my local Babeland shop but I like to think it was: http://babeland.tumblr.com/post/11522438888/rainbow

.....WOW

Am I the only one looking at that and going "But why are the balls teeny little pompoms"? Did he find it harder to walk in the outfit with bigger ones? Are the teeny little pompoms symptoms of chlamydia or something?

If they were proportional, he wouldn't be able to walk.

We should stop having this conversation now maybe.

This is why people don't watch movies with me. "BUT THOSE FAKE TESTICLES ARE ENTIRELY THE WRONG SIZE!" otoh it also was the source of much joy when watching Fury Road because EVERYTHING WORKED. And you could tell! Real cars, real flames, real acrobats, real Tom Hardy being a hood ornament!

....yes. Yes we should. Did you hear the news about marriage equality in the US and Mexico! Wasn't that lovely!

maybe if they were proportional he could be wheeled around in a little cart or something

Oh, I think you might really like it. It's kind of really jumbled and overambitious, but there's a lot of wonderful characters and it uses the idea of connection and distance in a really cinematic way that I liked a lot.

The glitter and confetti shirt is wonderful. *g*

Good luck catching up on sleep. *hugs if okay*

You were correct!

[identity profile] dormouse-in-tea.livejournal.com 2015-06-28 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
That is indeed what it says. Google reveals it's a band t-shirt for Tragedy, the self-proclaimed "All-Metal Tribute to the Beegees in the Tri-state Area" band.

(given that I wouldn't expect there to be very many, they may indeed be the top! but I confess I'm not going to track down anything to listen to, to check.)

I confess it did for me. rosefox stole the march on me because I was just grinning at it with delight for a few beats. :D

Sorry. Saw a spectacular Kiss Me, Kate a few weeks back, and I'm earwormed. Their First and Second Mobsters (one Lurch-tall and mournful, the other tiny) did a lovely "Brush Up Your Shakespeare." First round in their fedoras; second, in straw hats; third, in full Astaire with top hats and canes.

If I lived underwater, I wouldn't either.* A soggy codpiece sounds terribly uncomfy.

*Not that I do now. You know what I mean.

[identity profile] nineweaving.livejournal.com 2015-06-30 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Poseidon wears no codpiece at all.

Neptune has only got one cod
Triton has two but very odd
And Amphitrite, beneath her nightie,
Is rather fishy, both goddess and god.

Ack, I got the lyrics wrong -- I meant bread, not soup! Oh, well.

I have sometimes suspected that the greatest use of a liberal arts education is to be able to make really complicated dick jokes.

that one relief where a fascinus wards off the evil eye by ejaculating in it,
I had forgotten, or perhaps never realised, that that was what it was doing! That wins.
