Good news for cattle and corn

I am profoundly uncomfortable with almost everything about my physical appearance these days, in no small part because of the effects of the last six months of orthodontics on my voice and face, but I made a crown of flowers for the solstice this evening at the Harvard Museum of Natural History and I am proud of it, so here it is. I'm wearing it.

There are daisies in there, and ivy, and some other climbing plant, and green and yellow ribbons which may or may not be visible. I cannot ever remember making a garland before and assumed I would be bad at it. It was by far not the shabbiest example wandering around the museum. It is now hanging on the nail on [livejournal.com profile] derspatchel's office door, because my office door doesn't have a nail. I'm hoping it will dry and turn into a keepsake. We may not have the right weather for it. I wore it all night until I came home.

It looks remarkably natural on you. Perhaps the flowers were always waiting for you to realize that they were meant to be written into garlands and worn. The effect is luminous and lovely. Ever so.

(I have just totally scanned for a "Like" button, despite knowing that there isn't one.)
