That's for those of you who have absolutely no interest in pirates
This is just to register my approval that the Roma Sub Rosa novel that prominently features pirates (bandits who sail the Nile, whatever), a case of mistaken identity, and an abduction by same, also closes with a recognition scene between two long-lost twins and their estranged father. Let it never be said A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum was the last great flourish of the Hellenistic romance.
rushthatspeaks called this the best music video they had seen in some time and I cannot disagree: FKA twigs, "Two Weeks." It feels like the closest anyone is going to get to filming some of the early novels of Tanith Lee.
Have a portrait of Egon Schiele.

Huh! How did you find out? Self-portaits?
(I understand why you thought redhead, though; he has a fox-look. I think it's the brushy hair.)

Yes. This one drew me in particular:

I can see the vulpine look now!

What a neat key to an artist's eye! Because I can see how the painting looks like Schiele, and I can see the features that make it characteristic of Schiele's style, and now I want to study a bunch of his portraits and see if I can see their subjects through the Expressionism. Which I realize is totally missing the point of Expressionism, but the likenesses of the two images interest me as much as the stylizations. He only exaggerated that hair a little.
Also, I'm pretty sure I covet that waistcoast.

I'd like to hear what you think of that.
*Also, I'm pretty sure I covet that waistcoast.*
Hee, so do I. We'll have copies made up; waistcoat timeshare *might* work, but I'm not completely convinced.
