I know a couple of days ago we were all saying you and Rob were made for black and white photography, but this has changed my mind -- you look great in colour, especially in front of that raw umber (?) background.

My mouth is very swollen from the braces and the grimaces required to get them in and out of my mouth (it's not fast; they don't just need to fit tightly around my teeth, they need to hook into the attachments) seem to be leaving pain-lines, which I like a lot less than the kind that form from animated conversation or smiling. I am sure some of this sensation is Tiny Richardson and/or Wittgenstein, but it feels unnecessary to have gotten to a point in my life where I can enjoy photographs of myself and then be thrown back into feeling it was a brief shining moment, that's not my face anymore. In other news, my self-image is way too closely tied to the state of my physical health.
