We being ourselves acquaintances of some standing

For the portion of my friendlist to whom this pertains first: anyone wishing to know how Aziraphale and Crowley occupied their spare time in the 1940's is advised to read the first eight poems in Rosemary Dobson's The Ship of Ice: with other poems (1948), because the answer is evidently inspiring that book.

For everyone else: I am now reading pretty much everything of Dobson's this site has to offer. Just pick a title you like. I started with "Greek Coins" and "The Stone Circles" and kept reading.

I think a lot about how they spent their spare time in most times and places, but I've been stuck in the 1920s-40s for other reasons lately. This is good to know ;)
