Our ship is at the shore

Readercon. Was wonderful. I did not get any more sleep at the convention than I went into it with—if anything, less—but my voice held and everything I was on went well and [livejournal.com profile] derspatchel came out on Friday night for my reading and I would love to see the Readercon Miscellany become an annual tradition, although I admit that as a performer I'm biased; it was just that much fun. I have books. I saw people. I have writing-related things to do! The usual update forthcoming when the brain has gotten a chance to recover. At the moment, I am eating some goat's milk ice cream and I kind of just want to stare at things for a while.

I would also like to see Readercon Miscellany become annual.

Your reading and singing and self were magnificent.

I'm sorry I didn't get to hear you sing (apart from the little bit at the reading -- which, WHOA), but another time.

I was so, so sad to miss the Miscellany. I seem doomed never to see you perform. Maybe you do it in the thinnest shading-over of a different universe, one that I'm just not able to be in, or something. And I wanted to see Sassafras! I met Tilly, I think her name is? What a pleasant person! She made me double-extra want to see Sassafras. Not to mention all the other cool performances. Well, but it's good to spend time with my dad, which is always why it is that I miss these cool evening events.

It was, in any case, good to catch a glimpse of you, even if it was only just that, and to know that you (still) exist in the flesh as well as in pixel.

It was great to see you. Your singing was amazing!

I'm delighted it was wonderful and your voice held out and all the rest. I do hope that someday I'll manage to make Readercon. In any case, it's too long since I've heard you read or sing.

I hope you're feeling at least a bit recovered, and that the ice cream has been helpful.

I'm in the Catskills. All the tunes going on an hour ago were a beginner-level session with nobody I knew in it, but I'll be sallying forth again shortly.

Happy staring. I had a great time too, even when my body was trying to kill me.

Most of what I heard about Readercon and the Miscellany in specific sounded excellent. Perhaps one of these years I'll make it back.

I was sorry that, between your super-busy schedule and my feeling feverish and having to go and sleep quite a lot of the time, we never got to talk properly. I enjoyed your reading, though!
