I gave him a copy of The Lady's Not for Burning. He gave me Tom Swift and His Repelatron Skyway. I brought the rings: a design of two cats, side by side. At the Friendly Toast, we signed our names to the question on the frontispiece of one book and the finale of the other.

(We are still making wedding plans. It is with great self-restraint that I have not titled this post THIS WILL ALL BE GONE INTO AT THE PROPER TIME.)

We are very, very happy.

(We both read Tom Swift in our childhood, which almost certainly damaged us for taking certain tropes seriously. I haven't read this particular one yet, but it will be mid-century pulp science with implausible portmanteau names for all its inventions and almost certainly one fictional country and it will be delightful, even if it's not good. derspatchel is reading it first. I trust him to provide reports.)
