Reach from the silence and take your dish
And now, an actual announcement.
I have accepted a position as poetry editor at Strange Horizons. Admittedly there are others, but that shouldn't hinder you from sending stuff. I am looking forward to finding out how this process works: I've been a contributing editor for Not One of Us since 2004, but never personally responsible for an entire inbox full of poems.
(Seriously, send stuff. The things I hear about slush are terrifying.)

Well, for me anyway. Maybe the slush pile is not so very happy for you ...
I'd sort of given up on sending poetry to SH; I shall un-give-up now :)

I feel productive already.

SH hasn't updated their masthead yet, though the successive announcements about staff changes are coming fast and thick.
Let me know how your schedule looks this weekend.

I'll take them. I think it's going to be a good thing.

Do they accept simultaneous subs?
Guidelines say no, alas. You'll just have to write more poems.

Even if it's a nightmare, it'll be interesting. But I don't think that's going to be the result.

(I have not given her your actual name, to minimise the size of your slush pile. I have, however, given her my brother's, but he has INTERNS to deal with scriptwriting contest entries...)

Thank you!
I have asked my student/friend who assistant edits the local literary journal if she has any particularly good poets...
Awesome. I look forward, although I doubt very much I'll know which ones they are . . .

There once was a poet named Hans
Who couldn't find anything that rhymed with Hans
So he ended every line with Hans
Except for the science fiction part which was Blans
Look out, William Shakespeare!
