Running through the underworld into your room
My poem "By the Dog," written for an Egyptology-minded four-year-old I know, has been accepted by The Pedestal Magazine.
One may now purchase copies of Hidden, the latest annual not-Not One of Us publication; it contains my poem "Anakatabasis," as well as Patricia Russo's "Hey," Meredith Roe's "Gabriel," Erik Amundsen's "Strawberry Ghoul," David Kopaska-Merkel's "Death Dreams," and other apocrypha.
(I think I got
cucumberseed's dreams last night. I woke up with the line, The mulberry king led his people through the winter hedges, like a bird's breadcrumb trail of refugees. It is exactly what I watched happen in the dream; I wrote it down on an envelope and fell back asleep and dreamed of a museum full of guitars, musical impersonators, and gilded bracken. No idea who that one was supposed to go to.)
I had dinner with
sigerson and
sen_no_ongaku. They had made chicken-carrot coconut soup and fresh bread; I brought eggnog cake. A good time was had by all, I think including the cat.

Well, I had a rejection this morning, so there's balance . . .
Congratulations, several times over!
Thank you!
