Dare I declare this morning love turned evening deep?
For some good news at the start of a cold month—
You may remember that back in May I had the pleasure of announcing that

Erzebet offers more details here.
This is going to be such a beautiful book. As they say, watch this space.

I loved erzebet's description; it reminds me of an essay I published in Black Clock called "Broken Seashells", about the sound of the sky above a landlocked valley on the Isle of Skye, among other things. I think I need to read this collection, but nowhere do I find a reference to its title, unless it's Midnight Feasts. Speaking of feasts, which of your own collections would you recommend I get first?

There is also a novelette-chapbook, The Dybbuk in Love. None of them contains any of my recent work, since they were all published in the summer of 2005, but fortunately a decent amount of that is scattered around the internet. I can probably provide links if you give me some warning.

If you'd be willing to give me links to two recent stories and say one poem for starters, that would be great; with thanks.

I think it will be simplest if I send you stories over e-mail—a link I was going to post from last year has just been flagged as malware by Safari and Firefox—but to make up too much for them in the meantime, some poems from earlier this year are "Amal and the Night Visitors" (for

(Also, I just got the new corrected Criterion edition of The Seventh Seal -- thanks for alerting me to it.)
