I'm busy chasing up my demon
My poem "Σκιαδάς" has been accepted by Sybil's Garage.
For the myth and folklore panel and the chantey sing alone, Arisia this year has been surprisingly awesome. Not to mention the obscure films handout. And there's still two more days.
Did I mention we're in the middle of a blizzard? Excuse me while I shovel out the car.

And ... chantey sing? *cries* Want!

"Skiadas." It's the name of this village, around whose etymology I built the poem—I have no idea if it's true, but it's perfect folklore.
And ... chantey sing?
Come to Boston! We have music!

I also came thiiis close to applying to Boston U, since I heard they had an excellent Celtic Studies program that wouldn't shy from the musical side of things. But the fairies won out, in the end.

And be careful shoveling there. ;-)

Meh. Blizzard.
*shaking my cane* I remember the blizzard of '78...
All too well, actually. My whole family had the flu, we slept by the Franklin Stove for warmth, and our Siamese kitten was obsessed with candles and singed his whiskers. Then there was the snow...

Congratulations! (And be careful out there in the snow!)

Chantey sing? Interesting. Well, one of these days I'll hopefully be able to go.
Good luck with the blizzard--we've got a fair bit of snow coming down right now. My mother and father are going into the city tommorrow--mother's singing at Lincoln Centre. I hope it doesn't get snowed out, although I don't reckon it's over likely--they're only driving a couple of towns over to a commuter lot, and going by bus from there.

Thank you!

My parents moved to Boston just in time for the blizzard of '78. I'm amazed they stayed.
(My aunt didn't. As soon as the snow melted, she moved back to California posthaste. And I was born here and love the winter. Go know.)

So far, so good . . .
(That is an excellent icon.)

Arisia last year was fun, but I'm not sure I'd have classified it as awesome. This year wins major points from me.

Best of luck . . .

I see.
This year wins major points from me.
Excellent.
Best of luck . . .
Thanks!
It doesn't seem to be too bad. Snow's stopped, and it hasn't been the kind that's too difficult to clear. Doesn't look as if na rents will have any problem getting away. Now I've just got to finish up the article I'm writing for the paper--shouldn't be too hard--and email it in.
