My poem "Σκιαδάς" has been accepted by Sybil's Garage.

For the myth and folklore panel and the chantey sing alone, Arisia this year has been surprisingly awesome. Not to mention the obscure films handout. And there's still two more days.

Did I mention we're in the middle of a blizzard? Excuse me while I shovel out the car.

How would you pronounce that title?

"Skiadas." It's the name of this village, around whose etymology I built the poem—I have no idea if it's true, but it's perfect folklore.

And ... chantey sing?

That is so totally true. My sister went to Boston last summer for a music camp, actually, and sang its praises to the sky. She plays the flute.

I also came thiiis close to applying to Boston U, since I heard they had an excellent Celtic Studies program that wouldn't shy from the musical side of things. But the fairies won out, in the end.
