sovay: (Morell: quizzical)
For assorted reasons, by the time I finally fell asleep last night, I had been awake for effectively over forty hours. I qualify it because I did nap for about forty-five minutes in the early afternoon and in the evening I passed out on the couch for five minutes before a delivery, during which [personal profile] spatch captured this image of me and Autolycus. I didn't even have time to take off my glasses. Or close my mouth.

I do not think I feel impelled to write about Lewis Gilbert's The Sea Shall Not Have Them (1954) in the same way as some other movies I have seen recently, especially the restoration I watched off TCM at ten in the morning as in the days of ordinary TV because it was a festival premiere and I wasn't sure it would go into on-demand, but I was charmed with strong hints of The IT Crowd by Ian Whittaker's A.C.2 Milliken coming abovedecks and saying very politely, "Excuse me, I think I've set the boat on fire."
