Today has been mostly catastrophic due to insomnia and other factors, but early this afternoon as I lay in an exhausted daze I said to
spatch, "You know what I really want? Fish," and so at the end of the work day we walked over the hill to Bow Market and we looked at Hooked to see what we could afford and they had a beautiful fillet of day-caught Chatham haddock and we bought a pound of it and we took it home and we fried two strips of applewood-smoked bacon in the skillet and we fried chunks of boiled potato into home fries in the bacon fat and we scraped out the pan and added butter and sprinkled the top of the haddock with lemon pepper and we cooked it skin side down until it was just still translucent and then we flipped it over and fried the lemon pepper into a light crust and then we ate it immediately and I don't feel better about everything, but I feel a lot better now. The moral of the story is: fish.
