Happy Halloween!

My poems "ἄρκτος ἦ Βραυρωνίοις" and "Acceptable Documentation" are now online at Sycorax Journal. The first came out of a myth, the second a nightmare. I am honored to be part of this inaugural issue and delighted by the company in which these poems appear. Check them all out. They tell strange and strong stories together.

This is three years in a row now I have been able to hand out poems for the holiday: I like this tradition. I am afraid both of mine, this year, are political. That would be the trick.

Our pumpkins have been on the front steps since Saturday, but I went down tonight and lit the candles in them before evening, to let the trick-or-treaters know. There are few survivors of the bowl of mixed Twix and Kit Kats. I spent most of my Halloween proper on the couch, watching movies, with one black cat or another on my lap. I didn't get much done, but I feel it was an appropriate way to observe the holiday. The cats certainly thought so.
