I really do not wish to evaluate 2015 in the general sense. Some very good things happened in it, but on the whole it hurt very much. Writing-wise, it was a slightly frustrating year in that several pieces of new fiction which I expected to have seen print by now instead look like they're going to make their debuts in 2016; rest assured that I will shout about them when they come to pass. Until then, it's end-of-year summary time and my list of publications is as follows.

Despite everything, it was not a totally dry year for fiction:

"The Boatman's Cure" in Ghost Signs, January 2015.
"I Love You Like a Mountain" in The Long and the Short and the Tall (ed. John Benson), January 2015.
"ζῆ καὶ βασιλεύει" in Ideomancer Speculative Fiction 14.1, March 2015.
"When Can a Broken Glass Mend?" in Not One of Us #53, May 2015.
"A Cherry Without a Stone" in Not One of Us #54, September 2015.

Or poetry:

"Red Is for Soldiers" in Ghost Signs, January 2015.
"Ghost Signs" in Ghost Signs, January 2015.
"Gorgoneion" in The Cascadia Subduction Zone 5.1, January 2015.

"Foxstory" in Through the Gate #6, March 2015.
"Day, Sun, Night" in Not One of Us #53, May 2015.
"On Two Streets, with Three Languages" in Interfictions #5, June 2015.
"Antique Water Magic" in inkscrawl #8, June 2015.
"Σειρήνοιϊν" in Uncanny Magazine #5, July 2015.
"The Drowning of the Doves" in The Cascadia Subduction Zone 5.3, July 2015.
"Panopticon" in Viktor Koen's Bestiary: Bizarre Myths and Chimerical Fancies (ed. Ellen Datlow), July 2015.
"Firebrands" in Through the Gate #7, August 2015.
"Keep the Home Fires Burning" in Not One of Us #54, September 2015.
"One Way or Another" in Through the Gate #8, October 2015.

"Something Different from Either" in Uncanny Magazine #7, November 2015.
"Strike a Light" in Through the Gate #9, December 2015.
"False Lights" in inkscrawl #9, December 2015.

Or even reprints:

"Di Vayse Pave" in How to Live on Other Planets: A Handbook for Aspiring Aliens (ed. Joanne Merriam), March 2015.
"A Wolf in Iceland Is the Child of a Lie" in Lightspeed Magazine #59, April 2015.
"The True Alchemist" in GlitterShip #2, April 2015.
"The True Alchemist" in Wilde Stories 2015 (ed. Steve Berman), July 2015.
"In Winter" in The Humanity of Monsters (ed. Michael Matheson), October 2015.
"Poor Old Horse" in Mythic Delirium: Volume Two (ed. Mike and Anita Allen), December 2015.
"Anonymity" in Mythic Delirium: Volume Two (ed. Mike and Anita Allen), December 2015.

And while initially I thought there were only a couple of items in the nonfiction column this year:

"Author Spotlight: Sonya Taaffe" in Lightspeed Magazine #59, April 2015.
"Interview with Sonya Taaffe" at The Qwillery, April 2015.

Lastly, there is the collection which is still so important to me, which really did come out this year:

Ghost Signs, Aqueduct Press, January 2015.

I was so flush at receiving my contributor's copies on the last day of 2014 that I mistakenly counted it as a publication of that year, but for all purposes of awards and reprints I need to remember that the new material is eligible in terms of 2015. It says so on the copyright page. It has even received reviews and they make me very happy. May it be an omen for a way out of the underworld in 2016.
