sovay: (Claude Rains)
Dear brain. Rumors of devil's bargains and the legend that an angel foretold his talent to his mother before he was born notwithstanding, it is not helpful to dream that Niccolò Paganini was the Phantom of the Opera. For starters, the timeframe is completely wrong. Also, crackfic.

Speaking of which, though:

I'm going to tell you a little story that I think you might find apropos. One day, a god named Zeus looked down upon the people of Earth from Olympos and thought, "I will turn myself into a bull." Then, as a bull, he went down amongst the humans and fucked a spider. And that is why, today, we have coconuts.

I love The Daily Show.

My poem "Shnirele, Perele" is now online at Stone Telling #4, guest-edited by [livejournal.com profile] seajules and [livejournal.com profile] shweta_narayan. It was written for [livejournal.com profile] rose_lemberg; it takes its title from the Chasidic song and is beautifully illustrated with the violinist from Luminescent Orchestrii. Selfishly, I would also point you in the direction of [livejournal.com profile] strange_selkie's "Bacab Skerry," which she wrote out of a dream of me and a rain-god, but it looks like a gorgeous issue overall. Excuse me while I ignore the bits of the internet that aren't poems, liminal and labyrinthine.
