Nominations for the 2005 Rhysling Award are now open. Vote, people! Those of you who are members of the Science Fiction Poetry Association, anyway . . . and those of you who are not, why not? Among the Rhysling winners are numbered such cool people as Jane Yolen, Ursula K. Le Guin, Joe Haldeman, Jeff VanderMeer, Mike Allen, Theodora Goss, and, well, me. (Down, shameless self-promotion! Down!) Among the gifts of SFPA are numbered such cool things as the poetic newsletter Star*Line and the annual Rhysling Anthology, with further projects and publications upcoming. And we do not even demand a percentage of your soul. (Donations, however, are gladly accepted. You didn't need that firstborn child anyway.) So what have you got to lose, other than eighteen dollars? Be proactive. Read neat stuff. And for God's sake demonstrate that there is a market for speculative poetry! But mostly, read neat stuff.
