There were berries and cherries as thick as might be seen

My poem "Cherries in Winter" is now online at Goblin Fruit. It's possibly one of the few nonfantastic pieces I have ever written, maybe. Read the rest—the green children, the kitsune, the cryptozoologist and the explorer, the seal-woman, the choke-damp. It's like an illuminated manuscript every quarter-year.

Yay--my favorite journal! Gonna go read yours and everyone else's too. Mmm, treats!

What do the blue dots next to some titles indicate?

It's like an illuminated manuscript every quarter-year.

It is, isn't it? I always look forward to seeing what art Oliver's produced next.

I was visiting there on Monday, wishing for new things to appear, and they have! I like getting my wish.

With the sound of coin, a beggar once paid
an uncharitable cook for the smell of a meal.

I can't even begin to say how much that passage rocks. It may not be overtly fantasy, but it definitely knows the territory. I think this might be one of my favorites you've done.

I sent them "Orcs" on Monday, and I'm holding "Meditation on the Body of a Young Man" in reserve.

I've sent at least one off to [livejournal.com profile] time_shark
"Murder and the Mouse God" (I think - I would need to check my email logs to know for certain), with "Pele's Doggies" and "King of the May" as backups. [livejournal.com profile] oldcharliebrown got "Necromancy," "Dig for Fire/Angry Little Sons," "Summer of Hate," and "People Beneath the Stairs"

That's as far as I've gotten, so far.

Wonderful mood, wonderful sense of loss at the end.

Even better on the second reading. The "shutters all time into stutters and blinks" line is really well done.

So glad I clicked on that link and got to read your poem. Now the world is alive. Your poems do that.

As for your current music, I had no idea Patti Smith covered that song. I'm very curious to hear it.
