I just walked out through the dead leaves in the side yard and looked for the exploding comet with a pair of binoculars, but I didn't need them: it's a diffuse, distinct halo of light below Perseus, triangulated with Mirfak (Alpha Persei) and Delta Persei. This is wonderful.

You have more light pollution. Under no stretch of the definition does Lexington qualify as rural, but at least there are fewer streetlights on our block than there used to be.
